Our Dream for the Future

Nothing means more to the people of Hana then spending time with their family and friends.  Our organization’s dream is to make a place for the children and families of Hana.  We would like to build a hub of services for the community on the Hana School campus.  This community center could have a pool, exercise equipment, a climbing wall, a community meeting room, a small auditorium or outdoor covered theater space and a regulation size soccer field.  This would be a safe, positive place where kids and their families can enjoy themselves.

Although the land to build our dream on is available, funds to build the pool, community center building and soccer field are not.  In the future we hope to embark upon a capital campaign to build this community center—either all at once or in phases.  In addition to grants we are currently exploring options for a founding donor who might be interested in naming rights for the center.

The success of our children is one of the key factors in keeping our community—from Keanae to Kaupo—strong and growing.  There are many challenges to this success.  However, the Friends of Hana Keiki is working to overcome these challenges and make a difference in the lives of all the area children.
