Our Mission

The Friends of Hana Keiki’s mission is to provide support to the children of the Hana district by developing, promoting and funding programs which enhance:

  • Academic achievement

  • Social and emotional development

  • Cultural enrichment

  • Healthful recreation and physical fitness

  • Facilities which serve area children

The Friends of Hana Keiki was formed because of the challenges the Hana School and community face in providing services to area children.  The organization works with Hana School and other community organizations to identify needs of area children and develop, fund and promote programs which are not provided through traditional school and community funding sources. 

Hana is located in remote East Maui beyond the normal reach of resources available to most Maui schools and communities.  Because of Hana’s isolation many costly services are not provided.  The Friends of Hana Keiki’s goal is to fill in the gaps and fund desperately needed service for area children.
